About Carole Deighton

I have always been interested in people and learning about their beliefs and ambitions. Most of my professional life has been spent advising and guiding individuals from all walks of life, from the young trainee taking the first steps in their career to the top executive keen to sharpen their abilities and address new business challenges. A cornerstone of my philosophy is the belief that when you encourage people and empower them, you bring them closer to realising their full potential.

Coaching is a creative two-way process, a time to reflect and focus on the future – and it’s often a surprising voyage of discovery! If you feel it’s time for a change, I’ll be an independent, caring voice who’ll give you the support, feedback and guidance you need to improve your life and career.

Business Background

Before becoming a coach, I ran a successful marketing and communications agency for more than 30 years, working with global corporations, blue chip companies, and iconic consumer brands.  I gained valuable insights into many different industries, from fashion, design, leisure, retail, and finance to luxury goods, toys, computer and video games, drinks, wines and spirits.  One of the most enjoyable aspects of my work was helping my employees cultivate personal qualities such as initiative, emotional intelligence, confidence, and creativity, and see their careers progress.

My hands-on experience, building and retaining talented teams, has given me the essential know-how to encourage people and help them develop their personal strengths and business skills.  From leadership, strategic thinking, motivation, and time management, to problem-solving, communications and networking – I can help you hone and develop your expertise and performance.

Qualifications

In 2004, I completed my training with The Coaching Academy and have a Professional Coaching Diploma (Distinction); I have run my successful North London-based practice for over 15 years.  I am a member of The Association for Coaching (AC), the professional body that promotes excellence and ethics in coaching.  I am bound by their Code of Ethics and Good Practice.

I am a published author: ‘Mentoring at Work’.

My life experience includes volunteering as a Samaritan (2008 – 2010).
